About

Responsive. Passionate. Committed.

History

Since combining their passion and expertise in 2015, Clintel and Alex have partnered with organizations and schools across the country to lead learning about equity, culturally relevant pedagogy, and social justice. Organizations that LiberatED has consulted with hail from cities all across the country. These partnerships have taken many forms: coaching and designing learning for Superintendents and CEOs around race and equity in school communities, presenting to rooms of several hundred K-12 educators about culturally relevant pedagogy, engaging university administrators in dialogue about dismantling racist institutions, and strategic planning for non-profit organizations looking to improve organizational outcomes.

LiberatED has been honored to learn from great organizations, craft dialogues that lead toward justice, and work alongside dedicated schools and leaders. We work to translate these lessons and relationships into changed lives at every level of organizations and communities. We’d love to share what we’ve learned with you and build a relationship that will impact your community.

The Team

Co-Founder

Clintel Hasan (she/her/hers)

Clintel Hasan is a Milwaukee native and developed a passion for social justice early on and decided to study Sociology and Gender & Women Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating, Clintel joined Teach For America-Milwaukee as a 2012 corps member and taught middle school English Language Arts while also  earning her Master’s degree in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University. Being inspired by the impact Culturally Relevant Pedagogy had on her classroom and students, she joined the Teach For America-Milwaukee’s Teacher Leadership and Development team in 2014. In her first three years, she coached over 80 teachers placed in K4 – Secondary ELA classroom settings in the public, charter, and choice school districts in Milwaukee before expanding her impact in the role of Director of Leadership Development. She scaled up teacher support aligned with culturally relevant pedagogy across the Milwaukee region, harnessed the power of TFA alumni in Wisconsin to advance educational equity, and led regional efforts on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. After 5 years with TFA, Clintel continued to work for educational equity in Milwaukee as the Strategic Initiatives Manager at Milwaukee Succeeds until January 2024, leading their High School Success initiative and Youth Forward MKE Coalition. She currently stays engaged in Milwaukee’s Education landscape as the co-lead of Milwaukee’s K12 Civic Action Team.
